Daughter of an American violinist of Russian origins and of a French mother, Amy Fischer evolved in an artistic environment and learned to draw at a very early age.
Today, approaching 30, Amy leads a satisfying life as a sculptor, passionately working in a field she loves.
She
divides her time between teaching, which provides a touch of reality, and
artistic creation.
Her
favorite subject : the nude.
Her sculptures are a mirror of herself, elegant and strong yet docile at
the same time.
Working
with clay allows her to explore the work during creation, something
which moves and fascinates her.
She
works quickly and without hesitation using very little water or additional
clay. Everything is formed by removing material and so ressembles more
sculpting than modeling.
In her work, Amy seeks a sort of perfection…
Amy Fischer remains a loyal admirer of the works of Auguste Rodin, Camille
Claudel, Edgar Degas, Medardo Rosso, etc.
With
maturity and maternity, Amy has enlarged her portfolio to include a new
series, The Pouters.
